hi everyone, my copy of poser has suddenly ceased to open at all. It was working fine until I tried to load the sarah character from free stuff.(I don't think its the character however) I seem to recall someone having a similar problem, and it was recommended that the poser rsr be deleted and re-loaded from the disk.Is this all I can do? and will I lose all current runtime info?is there anything I can do to prevent this happening again or is it sorta random? any help or suggestions are appreciated,if I'm screwed please lie!thanks

You can do a full reinstall off the CD. Poser will only over write files with the same names. All your custom characters, props, geometeries etc will not be affected provided that they do not have names that are on the CD. Just to avoid accidents rename your existing Poser folder to "Old Poser" before the reinstall. I have reinstalled off the CD without any trouble. As a tip once you have done this copy the Poser.exe and Poser.rsr files to somewhere safe. Next crash you most likely only need to reinstall these two files.

PhilC is right. This has happened to me several times, and I was able to narrow the fault down to one character file I downloaded that apparently had a faulty .rsr or cr2 file. I keep a backup of the Poser.exe and .rsr handy in case it happens again. You never know what you are downloading until its too late.
