heyas; but seriously! this is two and a half workarounds i've come up with for that rule about each figure's body part only being allowed to have one parent. remember that one? well, read up on the tutorial to refresh your memory. :)Traveler posted Mon, 21 February 2000 at 6:20 PM
Excellent stuff Bloodsong as usual :) Here is a tip to add to the weld trick: -It will only work for things in a straight progression. wing1-wing2-wing3. It dosen't work for skirts and things that need to be in a circular formation. skirt1-skirt2-skirt3-back to skirt1. The spilt will still happen between 1 and 3. Poser can take one extra weld, but not two. -Trav

Fantastic! I have been using a separation of welds and parents since I read Mason's tutorial on integrating clothing into a figure. I can't wait to find out about the results of your experiment. The multiple parents restriction has been a real pain. If there were one single thing I would like to change in Poser, that would be it.

Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below. His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.

I agree cage, its on my top ten as well. The one thing I would really like to see fixed is when you load a morph, hunt for the folder, then go to load another morph, you have to go look for the same folder..... grrrrrr I hate that :)

On less of a griping level, I would like to see the "change body type" feature - that P2 apparently had - added to Poser. The current version has a "change figure height", which is very funny. Flaming Carrot looks hilarious at infant height. :)

The change body type wasn't that good ... All it did was shrink and squash limbs but the person still had rock hard abs even though he had a big waist .. It was basically something that was good for approximate people to add variety since the old poser was mostly good for illustration reference rather than actual 3d work .... It is amazing how much of a leap it has taken ... Shakes my head Sorry .. rambled ...

Cool, and I agree with Traveler, I just created a figure that I put as many morphs on it as I could. I spent most of the day, just so that i would have a figure, where I wouldn't have to go hunt for morphs all the time. I would also like to see something like the body change function too. Finally I would like to be able to make the document window go full screen with floating tool bars. It would make make much easier to work up close on items, with having to stop and change camaras, zooms or focus.

Well, while we're at it. How about the quad screen being an option or at least multiple (like two) veiwing areas, resizable camera controls (so I can make them tiny for more screen space), camera gels, light filters (with transmaps, can they be far behind?), atmospherics (smoke, fire, etc), how about when you double click on a morph it has the delete option on it, how about a "Make all visible" button, How about when we double click on the title of the limb or object in the menu it brings up the window to add morphs and what not rather than having to hunt for it on the screen when it might be inconvenient and we have already selected the item but HAVE to double click it to bring up the window, how about having a function for sending a morph to another figure like morph manager can do only without having to open Morph Manger, what about telling Poser to take a morph from a similar model INSIDE the program, how about the business and casual clothes being made available as clothes instead of separate figures, ... How about I shut up while I'mn ahead. smile I love Poser and these are just suggestions that would make my life easier but with the current situation at Metacreations, I'm grateful for what I have. If a rich person, however, is listening to this list. Please buy the program for us, put these changes in, give Larry and Steve and the guys a raise, give konan enough money to make his plugin, and have a Merry Christmas. God bless us, every one. Yes, this is far too much caffienne for me to be drinking at this time of night....definately. Richard "Caffiend" Kane

If we're talking wish lists, definately atmospherics; quad windows (like most other 3d programmes); and floating tool-bars. And especially something with the morphs - like Traveler, I hate having to keep hunting for the morph target folder right after I've just loaded one. Paul

To change the size of a figure, select its BODY (e.g. select any part and then press the `2' key), then reset its Scale.
RKane_1 posted Tue, 22 February 2000 at 12:43 PM
I was actually talking about rescaling a body part, but you get the idea. Thanks for your effort to help. It is appreciated.

Is there going to be a new version of Poser? Has anyone bought it yet? Any news at all?
bloodsong posted Tue, 22 February 2000 at 8:01 PM
hey! maximum of two welds!!!??? ARGH!!!! no wonder i was having problem with more complex wings. ugh.
buckrogers posted Wed, 23 February 2000 at 12:39 PM
Why is this limit of 2? Is more than 2 welds per part actually impossible? Or is it merely that some internal data structure in Poser's workings only has 2 places for info about welds?
