Anyone know where I may find some wheat stalks to use in Vue D 4?
36" high green or brown.
I need to create a patch of them close-up not an entire field.
Thanks
Larry

Did you search one in "free stuff" (see the link at the top of this page). Maybe on Guitta's or Varian's sites, but not sure :=( Yves

Guitta, I need a 10 foot diameter circlular clump of wheat that will surround a farmer statue. I'm not sure how to go about it however. THank You Larry

LOL, I cannot get 10 foot for you. You need some imagination. On the Internet you can find images from wheat (be aware of the copyright). You could take 1 stalk of it and multiplicate it in Photoshop or whatever you have as a paint program. Change its position, assemble them and use the clumps then as an alpha plane. A sample for such a work is the image above. The pic contains 4706 poppies, but only about 280 in true, all the rest are alpha planes. Guittalswatts posted Fri, 28 June 2002 at 4:09 PM
Would plant studio do the job? I downloaded a tall grass object which at the viewing distance would satisfy the project needs. It is in a square and is a clump of many stalks. I put a post here asking if it could be reshaped into a circle to fit into the model space allotted. Creating wheat heads from photos seems like too much detail for the scene. They will not be seen as closeups, but from 30 feet away or more. LARRY
