hi guys, I havn't been around for a while, but I thought you might like to see my latest image. Thanks go to rtemesis for his siberian husky wolf texture, Aksiel for the dragon and nerd for the chain gloves and the mist coming from her mouth - its the poseable smoke from his cigarette :) Everything else is mine. The background was rendered in bryce, the three figures were rendered in poser4 and the whole thing was slightly retouched in corel photo paint. The lens flare on the dragon was a happy accident discovered while playing with the depth cueing... All criticism (good or bad) gratefully received :) cheers, Dal P.S this is first in a series of 4, betcha can't guess the titles of the other 3 :))Dal posted Wed, 23 February 2000 at 4:06 PM
oops, forgot to say, most of the morphs on the elf's face were created by traveler - thanks mate :)

Very very nice. The texture on the top and the additions to the gloves are excellent, and I really like the face. That fur-trimmed cloak is superb too. Paul (P.S. I bet we can grin)

Very Nice Dal. Glad to cya arrive back with such style. Nice perspective. Perhaps the only thing which bothers me is not being able to see the hilt of her sword and that might be my monitor Tartan :)

heya; wow, this looks great! (now why didnt i think of using a prop for winter breath??! d'oh!) here is a trick i did learn, when you are compositing, use a clone tool to copy some snow over animals' feet, so it looks as if they are standing in the snow. (and i bet her ears are COLD! brrrr!) :)

Great! A+ I almost feel the chill myself! A suggestion? Perhaps some dog footprints? It looks a bit like it is on a rockhard surface. I am wondering if there is anyway post or prerender to add the sparkles of ice crystals I would expect from such hard looking snow? The fur cloak is wonderful! I am looking forward to "Elf in Spring"! Superb work and the female armor chain mail is believable! See Allie's Pet Peeve from yesterday :-) Eric Walters

yeah, I thought it was a bit impractical too, but hey, its a picture of an elf with a dragon, imagination rules!! :) While I'm on, thanks everyone for your kind words and hints, I'm taking it all in... Elf of Autumn is already half done :) Thanks again Dal :)
