Here's some blatant--and I mean blatant!!!--self-promotion: The image at http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=207331&Start=1&Sectionid=3&WhatsNew=Yes is the one that will be created as a beginner's tutorial in my Vue d'Esprit book being published by Peachpit Press. Book is to be released in September.

Hi Richard, I hope the book is going well...writing is not the easiest thing to do, especially when working to a deadline ;o) May I ask just one question concerning the book? I have noticed the Peachpit Press tend to publish all pictures in black & white, which can be hard to interpret when explaining materials or lighting. Do you know if any illustrations will be in colour for your title? The best of luck, and I hope it all goes well for the release :o) Martin http://www.the3dscene.com

Depending on the space on the CD-ROM after all the other materials that will be in there, I want to have a folder that contains all the chapter images. This way they would be in color.and can be reviewed that way as well.

Hi, that's great that the book is definitely on track and will be coming out.. I'm wondering, are you going to have a chapter that really shows how to develop usable materials in the material editor?? Taht's one area that sadly weak in the manual.. And maybe you can suggest to E-on that they definitely need to issue new materials for landscapes and everythign else.. They've been carrying the same materials now since Vue 2... So, just a user suggestion and a thought... The material editor really needs an in depth discussion... Thanks.. :)

Yes, tradivoro, there will be a large chapter on the Material Editor and working within that area.
