I just finished this model. I'm also writing an article for a magazine about it. I'd like some opinions on the model before the magazine goes to press. I had to build it.... I absolutely hated the countach model that came with Ray Dream Studio. Please let me know what you think... Thanx, BrainMuffin

Tidy work man! Nice mixture of mapped textures and modeling. I'm a sucker for detailed wheel rims so if the world was run by me, I'd push them a little further. For that extra sex appeal you can always turn the lights on. (a zillion detroit car brouchures can't be wrong)

do you think flip-up lights are sexier than these?

I wouldn't use the flip ups because they 'ruin' the lines of the car. Parking lights are always enough. Mark

Hey - it looks great! Is the oversampling set to best for this render? If not - make sure you set it to best. If so, the Carrara dev team is hopefully going to add support for better oversampling. Carrara produces much higher qual pics than RDS, but someitmes the jaggies hit pretty hard. Brian P. Retford Carrara Extensions www.losthorizonsoftware.com

clint, for about $30,000, you can get an excellent knock-off. They're not quite as fast, but they get much better gas mileage. Aeryk, My article is going to be in the march issue of 3D Artist Magazine, about how to use the mesh-form modeler as a more advanced version of the free form modeler. Also, i gan give you any help you need.... Brian, I didn't have the oversampling set to best... I'm going to try it now. thanx guys. BrainMuffin

Great job! Did you do it from scratch? Do you use one of those robot digitizer things? I'd love to model my car but I'm afraid I would spend a ton of time and it still wouldn't look right. Also looking forward to your article. I'm hoping 3D Artist will add Carrara to their list of products.

i did it from scratch in the mesh form modeler. I'd love one of those digitizer things, i'm better in clay than on a computer, but i don't have ten grand to throw around....
