But I thought some of you might like to see the reason I haven't been posting much lately: I bought a house. Even better, it's a seven-acre horse property (now I just need some more horses). And, look, Litst, there's a huge Cheddar Cheese Storage Shed.litst posted Mon, 01 July 2002 at 1:32 PM
Wow =) ! If i go to your dream house one day, i hope you'll offer me a ride, baby ! I wonder if Harlan would miss the storage shed if someone makes it blow out just because cheddar is evil ???

Considering the hoops he jumps through for even the tinest smidgen of cheddar cheese, he would probably upset at such a drop in riches. On the other hand, he's looking forward to munching on horse, uh, treats, so perhaps he wouldn't notice. As for riding, I have a very nice horse who is a lot of fun to ride, so if that's what you meant, OK. But if you think I'm going to lug you around piggy-back, forget it! I'm just waiting to buy another horse so he'll have some company before I move him over (horses don't feel right by themselves). It is pretty much my dream house. It's only problem is that it's a bit small. And in another year or two I can probably do something about that. Otherwise, it suits me perfectly. And just 20 minutes from my job -- same drive time I had before. You'd never guess from the pics that we're just outside of Kansas City, MO (and technically in Kansas City, KS).

Good God! What were you thinking! All that grass that you have to mow is going to cut into your Carrara time! I don't know if I should congratulate you or offer my condolences....but for now, I congratulate you.
twillis posted Mon, 01 July 2002 at 2:37 PM
No, no, the horses EAT the grass. No mowing! Genius, eh? Besides, I could always teach Harlan to use a riding mower. I would sort of fear for the neighborhood cats, though.

You are a very wise man. I should have known better than to question your wisdom.

Hey, I just bought a house and I didn't get any Cheddar Cheese Storage Shed with a horsey. But I did get a big studio for my art. Ashley

I think you can render a few extra horses in Carrara and try to export them to your property.:)

Sorry Twillis.....removing foot from mouth right now.
twillis posted Tue, 02 July 2002 at 10:16 AM
Eh, don't worry about it. Not a foot-in-mouth thing at all, really. It's not like twillis is a gender-specific name, ya know? Besides, for all you know, I'm really the HORSE. Who is a guy. So there.

Ashley, congrats on your new house and studio. I had planned on converting half of the garage into a studio, but I'm finding that I really like having a garage for keeping my car in (I know, innovative use, eh?). I think I'll eventually add on to the house, so my studio may have to wait until then. My studio will be mostly a craft/quilting studio, as for my art, all I need is a place to set my computer up. But for my quilting machine I need mucho space. What is your art studio set up for?

Terri, Congratulations on your house. It's a big big deal to go through that but it's only worth it if you end up somewhere you like! Do you have all the equipment set up for our next move to world domination? Congrats to you to Ash! -Kix
