This has been driving me crazy. I have a P4 with 256 MB RAM & P4 Pro Pack Enhanced v4.2.1.179. Serial Number ####################;<) In a blank screen load P4 character Carmen (or any other)from Figures/Characters-Female. Load the Women's Vest from Figures/Clothing-Female. Conform the women's vest to Carmen Switch to a side view. Flex (Bend) Carmen's neck (not vest) 7 degrees (well within Parameter Setting Limits). When I do this the vest disappears around her chest. Extend (Bend) Carmen's neck (not vest) -15 degrees (well within Parameter Setting Limits). When I do this the vest grows enormous breasts. Now go to Use Inverse Kinematics and deselect all (right leg, left leg, right arm, left arm) Select Camen's hip On Side-Side Rotate to 180 degrees On my computer the vest goes kerflooey. All I want is the vest to conform properly and not be affected by movements unrelated to the trunk. Any suggestions?

Ooo... Check the vest-- when you select it, look under 'figure' and check to see whether o not IK options are turned on? If so, turn them off. I've had this be a problem with some figures. If not... ayeesh, I have no idea.

BAM, try this. Download the text file attached above, rename it to "Women's Vest 2.cr2" or something similar, and drop it into your Clothing-female folder. Launch Poser and load the new clothing figure.

It's based on the leotard's .cr2. It seems to fix all of the conforming problems, except for that 180 degree weirdness with the hip rotations.

By the way, the 180-degree hip bug seems to occur only when one or more of the Twist/Side-Side/Bend dials are at exactly 180 degrees. And depending upon the values of the three dials, it doesn't always happen. Strange.

Um...er...I only say this because I assume from your post that you are a masochist demanding humiliation.... "You're an idiot and shouldn't be allowed within 100 feet of a Poser program!" Scarab<- err...um...if that's OK with you?.....

Little_Dragon posted Tue, 02 July 2002 at 11:06 PM

Whether or not it's OK with me depends entirely upon whom you're addressing.

For some reason my messages are not making it up today. At least as far as I can tell. Little Dragon, I can't get that to work because when I try to load it I get an error message asking me for an .obj file of the same name. Should I rename something?

Little_Dragon posted Wed, 03 July 2002 at 4:41 PM

Hmmm.

Scarab, you're right. I shouldn't be allowed within 100 feet of Poser. I'm not sure how you'd enforce it, however.

BAM, I apologize. I was mucking about with Pro Pack's setup room, and overlooked the fact that it would create a new object file. The original vest .obj will work just fine with the new .cr2.

Open up the .cr2 with a text editor and change both figureResFile lines to read:

figureResFile :Runtime:Geometries:Poser4Clothes:Shirts:blwVest.obj

Or download the fixed version of the fixed file, which is attached above. It should work this time. Unless I pulled another boneheaded blunder and overlooked something else.

Scarab: Be nice to the Dragon, he's o.k. thanks L.D., I'll try this out. right now I'm trying to figure out why a boolean subtractin I did in RDS5.5 screwed up. I will check it out after that.
