Ok.. been working on this for a bout an hour now... can't pinpoint what's wrong... somebody help? I think I got the nose however

First off, you can't directly link to images hosted on Angelfire. We get the usual substitute image. It took me 11 revisions to get the P4 version as good as you see it; don't be too hard on yourself. Do post 3/4s shots rather than full-on faces. SMG's head is a little bit vertically compressed, making her face larger (and by effect, more childlike in an Audrey Hepburn way). Her eyes are very round.

Thanx Duane, both for the advice and for the angelfire headsup. I'll get you a 3/4s as soon as I restart this blasted computer

You need to talk to the pro...William The Bloody. He's done a darn good job with SMG so far...best I've seen anyway.

Thanks Chuck, I'll post a couple of images later in this thread when I get home from work. Problems I see here: Lips are all wrong, too wide and Smilex (TM) -y. Cant of the eyes and eyebrows not reflected. Hairline too High Eyes wrong color. -WTB

alrighty. Based on what you all have said thus far, here's what I got... still working on the hair line lol

Photopium posted Thu, 04 July 2002 at 12:06 AM

Some shots of mine. I think her face is too scrunchy in your last up. -WTB

ChuckEvans posted Thu, 04 July 2002 at 12:14 AM

Right, WTB, i think her eyes droop like you show.... the head-on shot does look good. BTW, if my wife could have sex with any woman, it would be a toss-up between Buffy and Angelina (I don't need to add the last name, methinks). Also...I have a small pen and ink drawing I found of "Buffy" you may appreciate, if you don't already have it...I think it is superb! I'll send it to ya...IM me your email (I'll keep it secret...promise). Also, my wife, Michelle (no pun intended) thinks she should take Spike.

Sorry to appropriate your thread a bit...WTB, did you do Drusilla too? I seem to recall seeing her but maybe I'm just wishing :)

sonuqueso posted Thu, 04 July 2002 at 1:51 AM

Ok... drooped the eyes, unscrunched the head. Mind you, I'm only using stock Stephanie morphs for this... I'm no were near talented enough to make morph from scratch :)

sonuqueso posted Thu, 04 July 2002 at 3:42 AM

Ok... broke out the Darth's Very Vicky model and checked out her face.. decided if I couldn't make SMG with Stephanie, decided to see if I could work with the Very Vicky one... here's what I got... I fixed that thing around the eyes...

Sarah certainly has a unique face, and getting the morphs down on her face I would imagine is extremely difficult. And while I don't want to take anything away from WTB, I think his is slightly off as well, though certainly his is the best Buffy version I've seen and considering the limits of the mesh, it's a damn fine job. Even X-Box didn't get it right, though that one is really close as well. To me though, WTB's version is greatly enhanced by the texture more than the morphs even. It has the right eyebrows, skin tones (which is very important) and eye color, etc. When painting, if I don't have the skin tone right, it really takes away from the character's look. I would think if one was going to try to model such a person that starting with a texture that resembles the character would make life a lot easier. I downloaded a free texture of Jennifer Love Hewitt at Happyworldland.com (It's just one of his normal ones, but it's very obvious who it is even though it's unmarked). When I put that texture on the P4 woman, it immediately looked like her. Then tweaking the morphs just accentuated her features. Just a thought...

Okay, I tried another go at Stephanie Michelle Gellar. This time I went back to the source photos to make a new buffy texture for Stephanie. I think I've got her down 98% now. Only thing changed was blurred out some texturey prototypey artifacts. Looking at my last post, that sucks. My vicky buffy usually looks better than that, I don't know what happened. -wTB

This looks much better than your Vicky one WTB. I think that's by far the closest I seen of a 3D version of SMG...Her hair is throwing off the render some, but it's definitely her...

Y'know, whether VickyBuffy looks like SMG or not, one thing's for certain. You've managed to completely remove all the telltale signs of Vicky from that face. That alone is an impressive achievement.
