Howdy... new here, and this forum looks like a good place to be. Anyway, I've been playing with the demo (which ran great from the get-go with no tweaking, turning off extensions, etc... G3 yosemite, 700 something ram...) So - is there a way to create frosted glass through which light diffuses accurately? Or at least somewhat accurately? I'm guessing with caustics there is some way to do this. Any thoughts? Thanks! Andrew

Thanks - That's sort of what I'm talking about, though I need actual diffuse transmission! Here the glass still looks too much like lexan or something. Nice image, though. Did you paint that yourself? Andrew

I'll play around with it in the next day or so to see if I can fine-tune it. The spots are inhibiting the light all-together altough I hanv't played with any of the values to try & fix it, should be able to get there from here. The image was a pain to get, I photographed the "real thing" from several sides & then composited them in Photoshop. Mapped it to a cylindrical spline object & placed it inside a cube of glass. I'm "outa here" for now...good luck.
