Hi, I've just recently begun posting in the Poser Gallery, and I notice there's an "edit" option - if I were to edit my description of an Item (left out a credit or something) or post a revised render, would I lose any comments already posted? Just curious.

No, you don't lose comments. Not if you keep the "allow comments" box checked.
