I recently decided to try something in bryce, since its been a while since I have, however after a while it started freezing everytime I try to save it, the first time was a heck of a loss, afterwhich I decided to do the pieces of the scene in different files, so, now I have a large piece of the scene itself in obj files but can't put them all into the scene and save, or even just one of them, at first I thought maybe it was ram, somehow, but the file is currently only 30mb and what I add in isn't going to make too much of a difference for that, eh, I don't know how someone might be able to help with this unless they've had it happen before, ah well, any help is very appreciated, thanks.

I am guessing that you are using the copy/paste method to assemble your objects. Bryce seems to get fussy (well, at least for me) when you have a lot of information on the clipboard. Make your separate files, and use the "Merge" command from the File menu to assemble your objects. If you absolutely must use the clipboard for a lot of objects, purge it immediately after pasting by copying something small (like a few letters of text or something.)

I had quite a few lockups while using the Bryce items in the Create menu. the terracotta colored ones and the booleans, especially when you duplicate them. I know it's a pain but you may also try recreating the items that give you the most trouble and merge your files. Sometimes that works for me. Good luck

When you say "freezing", how long did you leave it? A couple of my scenes take several minutes to save just because of the object structure - and that's on a 1Gb box with 7.2Krpm HD. Loads of non-connecting polygons within single objects seems to be the culprit, grass and plants being the worst. If you've waited more than 10 minutes, however, then it's probably something else. Just to give you an idea, my piece "Ox the Hunter" takes almost 5 minutes to save, and that's just cos of the arrangement and number of polygons on the grass. Initially I created a large patch of grass with about 10,000 individual blades, but after waiting for about 30 minutes I gave up trying to save it! This doesn't apply to polygons within terrains, because I've had 60,000,000 poly's before now saving in 20 seconds or less. Anyway, this might be the problem. Or it might not! :-)
