Hello all :) I've recently been using Photoshop to create seamless textures from photographs that I've taken, which got me wondering.. is there a way to paint a seamless texture? So if you went over the canvas on the left it would go to the right.. If this has been discussed before kindly point me to the thread :) Many thanks as always, Jenna

Blue, all you have to do is take the texture and run the offset filter on it.

Filter --> Other --> Offset
I usually set the values to 10pixels right and 10 pixels down.

Then use the blur tool or clone or any tool to get the offset to blend and your done!!

good luck,
:)

retrocity, I thought you were supposed to set the offset to half the width and half the height. Does your way effectively do the same thing? Rich

Good point Axe, depending in the pattern of the texture itself, will determine the offset.

The "more abstract" the pattern/texture the less you need to offset, I would never go "less" than 10 pixels thou.

A good way to test your work (blending the seams) is to run the filter again (you can repeat this almost full circle if you run it enough times!) and see if it looks right.
