Hi gang, Just a note to let everyone know that the Carrara Free Stuff section at Renderosity is now open. You can offer some cool custom shaders or maybe you would like to share some mesh objects with your friends here at Renderosity. You can post Ray Dream Studio items as well as Carrara items. You can get to the Free Stuff section by selecting the Carrara Free Stuff link on the Side Bar to the right. We have a great little community here and it would be cool to start sharing some things with each other. I already have some shader packs available for download. There are 10 shader in the pack. Go grab those if you havent done that yet. Lets fill up the Free Stuff suection ;) Come on Blues, I know you have some stuff to offer.. ;) Take care all. Clint PS - If you place something in the Free Stuff section, feel free to post a note here in the forum to let everyone know about it.

If I can get this App to work I'll try posting some things. Do you know the compatibility of car/rds files between MAC & Windows OS? RDS can't open car files & you can't save to RDS from CAR so seems that models should be uploaded in RDS format for the most bennefit?

yeah, this Carrara is not what i was expecting. NOT EASY TO USE!!! damn complicated, Carrara looks like cubik-rubik , you have to figure yourself everything. even a manual is for aliens with abstract thinking. Man,,, I am back to max3

willf, Yep, if you are going ot upload entire scenes then RDS format would be good. If you are loading up Mesh object then OBJ format would be best. Shaders are a little differant. They will work on both. But, There is a deal on the MAC side where you have to change a few parameters if it was created on the PC. I can dig that info up if needed. Just make sure that you specify PC or MAC when uploading to the Free Stuff section. Dunga, What!!?? This is the easiest program to use. It runs like a hot knife through butter. The work flow is sooo smooth. I've used MAX also. I think for ease of use Carrara is smoother to work with. But, You know what? Thats my personal opinion. ;) MAX is a SWEET program, Thats for sure. Sorry to hear you wont be using Carrara. :( Clint
