I got an e-mail this morning from someone who had a SEVERE problem with the Mike QC. It moved their document window to the far upper left so they couldn't reach their other controls and couldn't move the window back down. Luckily they got it fixed after an hour, but still it was a pretty big annoyance. I have no idea what caused that; I opened it up in a text editor and made sure there were no environmental variables being set, just joint information. I don't want to cause anyone problems, and Mike's QC isn't one of the best. It was based on the figure directly rather than actual clothing models, so it doesn't have all the tweaking to the JPs that makes stuff fit a bit better. Has this one helped anyone, or should I take it down until I can make a new version based on clothing models?

it's probably not what caused their problem, I've had that particular problem on several occasions & it's usually when starting poser that it happens, before loading any figures or props. Rob

I doubt your quick conform caused the problem. I must tell you I had not idea what that freebie does. So I either didn't download it or left it in a folder of stuff I'll probably not try.

HHMMMM i'm not real sure what this does either, did i miss a post somewhere, can you tell us what it's for?

Oh, sure. It's to set the joint parameters when you make a new item of clothing for a figure. Setting joint parameters is really slow and tedious, and until it's done the clothing figure has a tendency to jump up in the air or wad up into a ball or something weird when it's conformed. This sets them all in one go. They might need some tweaking depending on how the outfit is shaped (loose stuff usually needs work), but even then there's a good starting place established and a lot of the hard work is done. I've also downloaded a few things where the JPs were just completely wrong, like a boot that, when conformed, had the heel going through the shin. The QCs won't help with just pokage, but a lot of times they'll fix really blatant problems like that.

FYI - if your image window gets too big just go to the File Menu across the top and in the View Section, the last command is Window Document Size. Just type a smaller number there...voila! JG

I had the problem of the workspace being in the upper left and unable to move it when I switched from 1024 to 800 screen resolution. Setting to factory state fixes it. But the first time through does catch you.
