I am still periodically opeining RDS, trying to do something simple, and quitting in frustration without learning anything. Where can I find simple tutorials for an apparent RDS simpleton? I did manage to extrude a very simple shape one time.... I am trying to get the modeling box technique to work, but that is apparently beyond me. Obviously this software can do a lot, but it's not doing it for me. :(

Cage can be an opinionated jerk who posts without thinking. He apologizes for this. He's honestly not trying to be a turkeyhead.
Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below. His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.

Hi Cage. Sorry to hear you are having a rough time. :( Did you check the Tutorials link on the right side bar here at Renderosity? There should be some good ones there. -Also- Check 3D Cafe. They have RDS, last I remember, listed under the tutorials section. I just checked. Here is the direct link to the RDS tutorials. http://www.3dcafe.com/asp/tutray.asp There are about 35-50 of them. :) If we can help here in the forum ... post away. Good luck! Clint

You can also use the wizard in RDS which shows some techniques. I believe it is the wand on the left side. I haven`t used RDS since I got Carrara, Dave

Don't "try" to do anything at first, a sure fire way to become frustrated. Just plan on spending several hours just cliking buttons (& looking at the manual) to see what happens & to learn where the optons are located. Don't bother to learn the keyboard shortcuts if you plan on changing to Carrara, that will be another source of frustration. They replaced the quick "any window zoom" with an animated zoom you have to mouse-about to access. Also can't change camera views "on the fly" without more mouse actions. Another good thing to do is to disect some of those pre-made models in your browser. Jump in on some of those interesting shapes and see how they were made in their respective modelers. Change the envelopes & symetry settings & see how it effects the parts then start moving control points around to see what happens.
