I'm tryin to cut an object out of a photo and place it on another background that i designed last night...but mi nuh have a clue as to how to go about doin it....

first, make a duplicate of the layer, then delete the original. Bakcground layers are bitches to work with. use the lasso tools, one of the three, to make a selection around the object you want to use. when it's selected, go to the EDIT pulldown menu, and select COPY. Go to the background you wanna add it to, and go to EDIT, select paste.

You can just create a new template with a transparent background, open your layer, erase what you dont want, and drag it back over to your background...

or an even simpler method would be to use the extract option...dont have photoshop with me right now but i think its under the image menu.do a search for "extract" in the photoshop help and itll explain how to use it.
