I just got C2 and opened a file I built using C1.1 and C2 won't render anything. Anybody else having this problem? Thanks Ed

I think you are going to be a little more specific. Your description is very vauge. Maybe explain exactely what happens when you try to render. Does the App crash? Does it render a black image? Does it get 25% and stop. Things like this. The more info you post, the more likley you are to get help. Also type and OS of your computer are also helpful. Regards, -Paul

Well, Win XP Pro, 1GB ram 1GB Athlon C2 installed on a 80GB HD with 60% of the disk free. Here's what happens... I loaded the C1 file, made no changes to the file at all. Went to the render room and set the render camera to my main camera and size to 640x480, everything else at the defaults. Click render and nothing happens... Nothing renders, nothing starts... Have to alt-ctrl-delete to close C2. C2 just seems to not respond. I can't abort the render or anything. The file is big. Basically it is the interior of a bar/lounge... there is alot of detail around the bar area, but the area I was trying to render has no transparency, no reflection, The whole scene has 10 omni lights all with shadows enabled. This particular camera scene would render in C1 in about 30 seconds. Ed

Hmm. That is weird. If it renders fine in C1.1 it should work fine in 2. Are you using the same render settings that you used in 1.1? When you rendered it in 1.1 was it also on this same system configuration? I can't think of anything although I do know there are several bugs with rendering in 2. I would recommend 1. Sending an email to Eovia Support. 2. Posting a message on the Official Carrara groups on Yahoo. or 3. Call them on the phone! We are supposed to get free support. Regards, Paul

Hi Ed, If you just open the file in CS2, hit the render button without doing anything else and the scene doesn't render, then you probably have a bug . There is a bug report page on the Eovia website at the link attached . They will contact you if they need your file . litst
