Subject: Want some coke? Got a nickel?

I found this on the back wall behind a very old diner. That's the price on the right. A nickel (5 cents) got you a coke. On the left with delicious and refreshing, it also marketed as "relieves fatigue". That was back in the days when coca-cola actually had cocaine as an ingredient (hence the product name). Damn right it relieved fatigue! The whole country was drinking cocaine. Had to stand on top of my truck to get this one. This is about 2 blocks from the "bricks".

Excellent find Marshall, who would have believed it? (The coke in coke) I believe Frued was a great advocate of the use of cocaine, thought it was a great cure-all...back in those days you could go into a pharmacuetical supply shop and buy bags of it over the counter... :-)>
