I recently changed from other 3D Software (Refelctions/Monozoom 3D, Truespace) to Carrara. During my first experiments with the shaders I found a problem, I couldn't solve: I created a plane and have a Bitmap for use as a floor tile. I want to map the bimap on the plane rotated by 45 degrees and tiled 10 times. In the shader editor I only found a button which rotates the map in 90 degrees steps. Am I overlooking something? wolfdd PS: Sorry, if my English is not 100% correct, but my native language is German and School is a long time ago...

I dont think there is a 45 degree rotation in the T-Map componant in the shader editor. A couple of things came to mind. I havent tried them. Take the bitmap into a paint program and rotate it 45 degrees before bringing it into Carrara. Just a thought. Clint PS - Your English is fine. Better than some of the native English I've seen. ;)

You could also rotate the actual plane 45 degrees instead. Would that work for you? Aeryk71

Thank you for your hints. Both will be OK for me of course, but it's more work than just doing this while applying the texture. In the programs I used before, free rotating of texture maps was standard. So I could not believe that Carrara has no such option. However this and some nasty bugs I encounter sometimes, don't spoil the growing fun I have working with Carrara. The User interface of Carrara and of course Poser are the best I ever worked with. wolfdd
