Ok, now I KNOW this one will spark a great debate. I think we all have different opinions at what that poor wretch Gollum must look like. I decided to keep Gollum looking a bit human --for lack of a better word, but with the smallness of a hobbit (I know hard to see how small without reference), and a bit of a goul. I visioned him just as a porr lowly creature that had lost all humanity --again for lack of a better word, and from his consumption was transformed into something not quite fitting any species, whether hobbit or elf. James Note: As soon as I get Carrara I will be modifiying all my characters so that I don't have to use "dials" One example will be the webbed feet of Gollum. Another is body morphing/scaling.

Wow! Great Gollum! Definitely this is close to how I always pictured him in my mind. Only suggestion I have would be: rough up the texture of his skin a bit to make it more course and worn looking; make his stomach more thin to give him that gaunt, starved-hungry look; widen the top of his head to give him a slightly more froggish look. As for his origin, if memory serves, I think Gandalf stated he was a close kin to Hobbits in nature so I am not sure if his ears would be elvish or not (long narrow and pointy) Might leave them big but round them out to be more hobbit (human)like. Just a thought. Regardless of comments, your Tolkien creations have been wonderful. Keep up the good work. I truly wish I had your talent. Bravo! Rob

Thought he was a tad thinner though. Looks good nonetheless.

heya; i think he looks a tad bulky, too. gollum IS a hobbit, he just spent so many years under the influence of the ring, and down in the dark, that he barely looks like one any more. great job, i hope you like carrera. :)

REALLY Fine work! Love the texturing too. I thought he had large eyes from living in low light-little bit froggish looking. But then again its been ages since I last saw the fellow. Rumor has it he is still looking for his "precious" Eric Walters

This looks about like Gollum would have after leaving his burrow in search of "His Precious" I think - a bit heavier (more to eat on the road than a few blind fish!) and not as pale as he would have been otherwise... This is not at all how I would have pictured him (I'd have given the hands and feet longer, webbed digits, for one thing), but I like this interpretation a lot.

the books say he had long grabby fingers, and probably long webbed toes he also had large glowing eyes I'd also flatten his face a little bit to make it a bit more froggy other than those (minor) points he's BRILLIANT! I love these figures you've come up with, they are great! SewerRat
