I have that one, unfortunately it doesn't have a basket/cutlass hilt...in fact, the scimmies in the marketplace don't seem to have that type of hilt either. :( Looks like I might have to modify an existing mesh (personal non-commercial use only...don't bloody crucify me!) and go from there...my modeling is godawful but there's a first time for everything.

Thanks so much, I didn't know a few of these existed.

You almost have to modify a mesh. I never saw a scimitar with a guarded hilt. This was totally uncommon for that type of weapon and the one you're looking for is a "fantasy" design.

Heya Des... might try giving Questor an instant message or site mail, and seeing if he could do one for you. His freestuff sword collection has a broadbladed scimitar, and another one of his blades has a basket styled guard. He might be willing to combine the two styles for you for a personal use item. All you can do is ask, and all he can do is say "No" at worst. Never hurts.

Could you not use the grouping tool to select the pieces you want and spawn new props, and then parent one to the other and save as a new prop? With Questor's swords, I mean. It seems like that would be technically possible, it might be easier than modeling, and if it is personal use only, I don't think there would be any problems doing that :-)

i would agree that if your modelling skills are not top notch, the easiest thing to do is find a hilt with a guard you like, remove the blade, and then attach another blade of your choice to it. Most basic modelling packages can do this easily enough.

Omg this is beautiful! That's exactly the type of broader bladehead I've been looking for, tried using the 'taper' property on other scimmie type weapons and it just looked awful. The handle I wanted I can live without or find someway to do it postwork/the suggested grouping tool :)
