Hi there. I'm working on a new pic, and I haven't used trans maps before. I'm using the cat suit for vics, and all I want visible is the chest, hips...I want it to look like a leotard. BUT when I'm using the trans maps it excludes the right parts, but her arms and legs look wet. How do I get it so the arms and legs are completely invisible? I have the settings as follows: trans max 100%, falloff 0% object color at white, and all the rest black. IF someone could tell me what I'm missing here, or if I'm doing it completely wrong I"d appreciate it so much. thanks

Set the Highlight Size slider to 0%, also. If you're using a texture in addition to the transmap, paint the parts of the texture that you want invisible black. Highlights won't show against a pure black colour.

Try setting the highlight size to zero. You can also open the heirarchy editor and poke the eyes beside the parts you don't want visible to turn them off (it's great when you've had a bad day). Then you'll be sure those parts won't show.

Actually, there's also another option. Make the same areas of the Texture map black as are black on the Transmap. Absolute black does not have a highlight.

I had this same prob to a lesser extent when my eyebrows kept having a teeny-tiny shiny spot (drove me nuts) I found the problem to be that the highlight color was set to a very dark grey instead of black. So, just make sure that everything that should be black (highlight & reflection color etc.) are TRUE black. check the numbers, like in the picture.
