Hi All, Recently I've downloaded the zebra file from POSERWORLD http://www.poserworld.com/morphs/zebra.zip and I made some changes to the Zebra (fine tweaking and a New Texture File). I made a ZEBRA (not a known one) and Hopping that the Picture file will come with this Massage. For all animals lovers (Specially for Bloodsong) tell me if you Know what species of Zebra it is? For all Posers out there let me know what you think of it. Thanking you all in advance Happy Posing Arye Guetta Thank you bloodsong for the Zebra file - Hope you liked the changes that I made>Eric Walters posted Tue, 07 March 2000 at 12:30 PM
Looks like a Quagga. Not sure if that is the right spelling. Its an extinct Zebra relative. Eric Walters

heya; are you going to post your cr2 for people to download, arye? :) (and link to the poserworld pages instead of the files, okay? they need people to load their pages for banner hit counts. thanks :) ) yep, looks like a quagga!

Hi Eric & BloodSong Yes!! I tried to make a Quagga (I wasn't sure that it was the correct name of the Zebra since I saw it on the net and the Picture was quagga.jpg). Eric - Extinct Zebra relative??? - 100% Extinct? - like the telycn (tasmenian tiger) or only Extinct in the Wild? bloodsong - I'll send you the Cr2 and the new texture file since you already have the Zebra.cr2 that I've send you I think you'll need only the Texture file and do some tweaking. E-Mail me if you want the Cr2 and T-Map and I'll send them to you. Then you can put it on the net for downloading. I don't have a homepage. The Texture map looks so realistic that I was so lucky that I've found a reference picture that made the work little easy. Sorry about the link of a Zip - I thought that this will do the same effect since the file is on the site of PoserWorld I'll try to avoid these mistakes in the future - Thanks bloodsong. Hope to hear from you very soon - bloodsong. and Eric Thank you for the information. For all Posers out there - Keep them comming And for Us - Animals lovers - Let keep the Poser Animals comes to life on our Computers by creating more Animals. Happy Posing Keep up the good work Arye Guetta aria_gu@netvision.net.il

Not quite a Quagga, that had stripes at the rear only, (kind of like the Okapi). The last Quagga died in the Frankfurt Zoo in Germany and they have it stuffed in the local museum.

Hey Arye, You are welcome. I would love to get this zebra too! JohnW is correct. I think it died in the early part of the 20th century. Is that right John? I understand some molecular biologists are (were?) trying to get some viable DNA from that stuffed one in Frankfurt. If the are (were) successful it MIGHT lead to cloning a quagga using a zebra egg cell. Doubtful though, since DNA tends to be fragile and the coding gets lost due to that problem. If they had only kept some quagga in a deep freeze it might be a better chance... Eric Walters ewalt1@ix.netcom.com

heya; arye, you already sent me the cr2 for your new zebra, but i dont have the texture map for this critter. that'd be neat. oh, and you dont need a web space to put stuff at poserworld, you can just send it to them. :) if you dont want to, i will, okie? if this isn't a quagga.... is it a... what was it called, prezhwalsky's zebra/horse?
