Hi, I have Poser v4 installed. (not with propack). So, my pc crashes (directx problem) and the 'poser.rsr' file is corrupt. I can't open Poser at all. I then reinstall Poser 4. Now none of my PZ3 files I saved before the re-install have the proper figures. It's like the 'body' is invisible, but replaced by a piece of clothing. I can still select any body part from the 'invisible' BODY, but I still can;t see it. So, I unarchive a good copy of the PZ3 files over the bad?-PZ3 files, but all I see is the hair and clothing, and no visible BODY. And yes... the "visible" property setting is checked. I am guessing something got changed from the re-install, that makes Poser not able to read any PZ3 files properly and replaces the BODY with an article of clothing. I can build new people from the "figures","props",etc. But, when I try to reopen the recently saved PZ3 files now, all I see is a dopey dress subsuituted for the BODY. Help Please S0

Thanks. But I need more opinions and options. I have about 200-300 custom sets installed, and that means I'd have to reinstall them too. Is there any easier and faster way to install these custom things again? Later S0

Your .obj files might not be in the right place anymore. You can open the .cr2 of the bodies or props which are missing (right-click/open with... - I usually use Wordpad) and look for a line which reads something like, "Geometries:MilWom: ..." and make sure it matches what's in your Poser 'Geometries' folders. Usually when I load an item and it doesn't appear but is listed, I've found that the .obj file is missing or is incorrectly mentioned in the .cr2 file. Hope this helps.

Hmmmmmm.... Hmmmmmmmm. I'll check this. Now how does this sort of thing happen? Was it he reinstall or a glitch in poser? I think Poser pretty much works on a "modular" system - being able to interchange files without much hassle. Some of these PZ3 files were DL'ed from the Net, and opened okay before. I'll check the CR2/OBJ thing. Anymore suggestions? S0

heyas; let me get this straight.... you trashed your poser.rsr for whatever reason. so then you re-installed poser, right? and tried to open a pz3 you had from before. and they don't work. after you re-installed your poser, did you patch it? if you got it before it went to curious labs, it needs a patch. (it should be 4.03) after you re-installed your poser, did you backup and write-protect the poser.rsr? this would be helpful for avoiding the problem in the future ;) now, if all your pz3s use the same figures (ie the p4nw or whatever) or same group of figures, then your problem is easily explained. i hope. try going into the geometries directory under runtime and deleting all the rsr files you find in there. then open the pz3's again. if that doesn't fix them, i think it's safe to say, you're screwt. :/
