I'm having problems with mapping bitmap images onto the faces of extruded outlines imported from Illustrator (as Illustrator eps's). It works fine along the length of the extruded outline but if I import a shape and want to map a logo or image directly onto its front face, it doesn't seem to translate. I suspect I'm doing something basically wrong here. I'm used to using Infini-D where the mapping was more straightforward. Anyone help?

IainB, I wish I had the answer for you. One way would be to use UV Mapper to make a T-Map for your object. You can then paint the T-Map anyway you like and apply it to your object in Carrara. You can get UV Mapper from Steve Cox...His link is on the right side bar under Web Resources. There is a way to apply "Decals" in the Carrara shader I just dont have any experience with this. Some of the other members might be able to help with that. If you have anymore questions please post. Regards, Clint

Convert the defalt 'multilayer' shader to a 'layerlist' found under the complex shader heading. This will allow you top map specifically to one side of an object ata time with whatever kind of shader that you want to use. It's a blast. Unfortunatly, anything I had that resembled spare time has been eaten alive playing with Carrara. Mark
