here a shot taken at my girlfriend's janitor home. a little wasp nest. Nikon 35-70mm f2.8 macro on my D1X. i'm not really happy of the result, but i'm not an expert in macro photography anyway, just trying ... so critics are encouraged....

a little wasp nest Soon to be a big wasp nest... Neat shot. They sure look busy. A lot of times with macro the composition and such is less important than the detail. You've done well here. May get a little better results with some more light; then again, it may piss them off and you'll be in real trouble.

Hey! Some good macro stuff! I had one of these nests in my shed awhile back...be careful Yellowjackets/Wasps can be nasty and they can sting/bite multiple times... unlike your normal bee which has one chance! By the way, I think smoke can calm them down a bit.... IF ya want to get closer. L8r!

i love the clear and sharp colors . i think the lighting is perfect as it highlights softly the wasps and the nest they are working on... its a really well shot image.

Good details. I have a b/w--empty. The nests are wonderful creations--just terrific for rather abstract images.cat_amaris posted Thu, 08 August 2002 at 3:19 PM
