This is a texture for Michael's bodysuit I am working on for a personal project. I still need to create the bump map.

The chainmail is my Chainmail II in free stuff. I would probably bundle it in the package as well, with some sub-dividing poses for convenience.

Would anyone be interested in buying this if I were to sell it?

Here's a closer view so you can see more detail.

You know what I'd LIKE to see more stuff like this for? Not for Michael's bodysuit, but just for Michael. That way I can make use of some of the different body shapes I'm trying to develop. This would be a great underlying texture to put armour on top of, etc. I'd be interested in it, but not sure how much I'd pay for it. Always hard to judge that sort of thing.

Here's a version with the bump map. Not a lot of difference...

Gorodin posted Fri, 09 August 2002 at 12:42 AM

You might be able to see the effect of the bump map better with different lighting

Gorodin posted Fri, 09 August 2002 at 1:39 AM

This is a little better

Here's the full body with the bump map now. Comments? Feedback?

I like the looks of it a lot - Do a couple of variations (not just color, but configuration) plus a little variety of bump maps (I'd like to see one of quilted material, as knights actually wore beneath their armor for padding and protection - or how about studded leather)? With 2 or 3 variations plus a few color options, I can see a good product in it (I'd buy it). Message671414.jpg

Looks very cool... can we see a side view, to see if there's any distortion. (like the torso)

I came, I rendered, I'm still broke.

Gordin, dude, this rocks! I'd definitely buy it if it were priced in line with your Catsuit stuffs.

As you can see there is some distortion and the seams are not perfect, but I don't think it's very noticeable.

Gorodin posted Fri, 09 August 2002 at 9:22 AM

Here's a close shoulder shot so that you can see all the flaws. :-P I am going to fix the seam of the black strap, but probably not the seam of the leather weave, esp not for the price I plan on selling it.

Gorodin posted Fri, 09 August 2002 at 9:28 AM

I plan on keeping the price of all my poser products at or around $7.95. That means I will scale the scope of the product up or down to fit the price, depending on the amount of work it took. What that means here is that I would not bundle this with 2 other designs in a pak of 15 textures, but I might do a few color variations.

Gorodin posted Fri, 09 August 2002 at 9:30 AM

That's the morphing fantasy beard from DAZ. I think Anton did it.

Gorodin posted Fri, 09 August 2002 at 9:49 AM

Actually, now that I look at it again... Maybe I will include some small variations... I could do a version without the transparencies, so it will be all leather weave. That would require a separate map because of the edging on this one. Then I could maybe do a version with quilted leather or material instead of the weave. for $7.95, would people prefer the color variations or the trans/quilt variations?

leather-guy posted Fri, 09 August 2002 at 12:58 PM

For me, I'd prefer trans/quilt variations, color is easy enough to tweak for most users - If nothing else, changing the base colors in Render Options will allow some variety. The more pics you post, be better it looks, btw - really cool!

queri posted Fri, 09 August 2002 at 2:33 PM

If you could do one in creme as well as the rust color we could do our own color variations easily-- that would be optimum. I like all your suggestions. This is very very usable. Emily

I like em! You've done a great job with the sides, considering they're such a pain to have a design on. Doug

it could be just me, but if you did a yellow and blue version, youd have a great wolverine.......... just a thought, from some1 who read way too many comix in his youth, lol....... looks great nomatter what tho......

sturkwurk posted Fri, 09 August 2002 at 8:35 PM

you can't read "too many" comix.

I came, I rendered, I'm still broke.

Gorodin posted Fri, 09 August 2002 at 8:56 PM

SHH! Ix-nay on the Olverine-way! It's a coincidence! Speak of this to no one.

ChromeTiger posted Fri, 09 August 2002 at 11:05 PM

'Too many' comix? That's like having 'too much RAM' or 'too much money'...people only say it because they haven't got it. :) Gorodin, the outfit definitely kicks. If you could swing it, and don't mind the suggestion, why don't you see if you can get it to work on Mike or on his bodysuit, and include both versions in the package? That way, the folks can use either one, based on thier needs. Up the price to 10 bucks, and it's still a great deal. Just my 2 pixels worth...looks great! CT
