Recently, Win98 has become so unstable on my machine that I've seriously contemplated starting anew with Win2k (its actually on its way - snail mail). I'm tired of reinstalling Win98 to end up back in the same position not but a few weeks later. My question is this... Are any of you currently using Vue3 with Win2k, and if not, does anyone have any info on when e-on plans to release a patch to make it compatible? I love using Vue, but I just can't justify staying with 98... I never know when its going to crash (in the middle of projects). Many thanks for any info you might provide. -Rob

They are talking at Vue about an update so Vue will work with Win2000. Are you using the full win98 or the upgrade from win95? Do you keep up with the updates from Microsoft. I am only asking because I had problems when I upgraded to win98 from win95. My problems quit when I got rid of 95 completely and did a full install of 98 full version( of course I have had other problems but not with 98, knock on wood) Marge

Guitta, I was aware of that. My question was "...and if not, does anyone have any info on when e-on plans to release a patch..." Thanks for replying though. :) Marge, thats good to hear (update). I've tried both variations. The most recent attempt was the upgrade disc (which is the same as the full with the exception that pre-install setup does a cd check for the 95 disc), but on a wiped drive. -Rob

On the E-on site ,im the recent news letter we can red this:As you probably know, Vue 3 does not work under Windows 2000. Of course, Win 2000 compatibility is well underway in Vue 3.1 and there will soon be a free update on our site! So, be patient!!

Hello Rob, I am not sure if this help for the time being but it certainly did work for some of my client. If you do not use IE4 or 5 (even with the latest update to IE5.xx) but Netscape, it just fine. Seem like IE is somehow cuasing Win 98 to be very unpredicatable. Go to http://www.98lite.net/98lite.html and check it out. The other thing I hear most in other list is that, the "Find Folder" from MS is one of the main culprit of such crashes. I am still using it, but have not had any creashes. Having MS Word 2000 on my system seem to have offset the possibility. Please note that is is not a definite answer but just my assumption. Do download and upgrade your Win98 from MS site and that's what I did. Also, the latest of "RegClean version 4.XX" which helps remove a bunch of unwanted residues. I haven't had any crashes for a long time (I had both 1st and 2nd MS Win98 edition) on two different system and the first version with the regular update from MS site seem to be more stable, somewhat...touch wood.
