The Carrera list has ben less than useless in adressing my questions and issues. So here they are. Any one else have teh same problem or it it just me??? 1) The vertex modeler is still buggy. I do 90% of my work in this modeler and it simply is too buggy to use. a) Selecting verticies in window with a multiple view is a gamble at best. Often it refuses to select vetices outside the working box. Seems to work fine in the directors view however. Top, Left and right are iffy b) What happened to to zoom to selection from Ray Dream Studio? This was more than a convience it was VITAL. c) How can tell teh distance between two piont withoit haveing to figuyre it out via the pythagorean theorem?? d) In the Mesh Form Modeler Under the "CONSTRUCT" menu there a selection for "ORGANIC" I have no idea what this does alI can tell that it twist a 2d path in wierd ways. I Cant find anything in the manual about it either. Is it an undocumented feature, or a bug? 2) OBj importer- Selecting "import materials as polymeshes" simply does not work properly. It does not seem to be able to split OBJ meshes into materials unless a MTL statement is included 3) Also when I try "promote a group to master", teh copy is invisble. I nav to turn off "show onject in 3d view" off and on again to see it. Even then, whenever I move an instance of the master it leaves a copy behind that only dispears when another object is selected. 4) Finally, Shader layers are unrelable, Not only is there no documentation on this great feature. To get it to recognize parts of an object I have to edit eth object in teh constuction room, and tehn exit. Only then do I get the layers list to open. And then whenever I save a carerra file with vertex mesh file, then names diassapear from eth layers list and replaced by numbers.

Hokusai, Here is what I have found out... 1) Yep, Modeler sucks. Im still using RDS for modeling. 2) Im having problems getting OBJ's from Poser to import properly for me. Havent found the magic on that yet. 3) I have seen and experienced this. I think other have as well. (Bug??) 4) Havent played with the Layers yet. Well, I didnt do very good for ya. There are still a lot of problems with it but I am starting to enjoy the GUI, big time. Maybe others here in the forum can shed some light on these problems/issues for you. Regards, Clint

Not sure about all these ?'s, I've only worked with CAR for a couple hours. I was/an somewhat frustrated in some of the changes also, especially with the shortcuts. I did find that the "Ghost Menue" pop-up works in both the Spline & Vertix modeling rooms. Couldn't find info in the manual about this but it is similar to Meat-ball modeler PDF from RDS 5.5. To access (on MAC) hold down control button & click mouse (& hold a second) and the window will pop-up for instant tool and camera (some) options available in that room. Can't zoom to selection but can drag/zoom to area. Another thing is: you can use the control/arrows to rotate your 3D prview window, shader preview window, vertix model box and spline model box (this one only around Z, others all axis).
