simple raft or a simple boat. Something like that cause I would prefer not to use rectangles or anything like that. Also a wood texture would be nice. thanks

There is a rowboat in Freestuff, do a search for "boat". www.sams3d.com has a nice boat as well. Good wood textures are at http://www.3dtextures.fr.st/

Attached Link: http://www.3dtotal.com/

Just came across a lo-poly rowboat with an oar at 3dtotal---It's in FreeStuff>Models>Misc Available in several formats

I had a raft at one time, but I have no idea where I got it from. You might try 3D cafe. They have just about everything there. Melanie

Kelderek I went to the texture website, it is a great site, but when I download a texture, and try to open the file, it says the jpej marker is wrong, any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Philywebrider posted Sat, 10 August 2002 at 7:13 AM

JPEJ=JPEG

Kelderek posted Sat, 10 August 2002 at 10:23 AM

Philywebrider, I just downloaded a few random textures from the site as a test, and they open OK. I have no idea what would cause the problem you have. If you want to, you can e-mail me the files you downloaded (kelderek@hotmail.com) and I'll see if I get the same problem with those particular files.

Philywebrider posted Sat, 10 August 2002 at 1:17 PM

Hi Kelderek I tried again, EVERYONE I dowmload I can't open. Here's what I do, 1) left click on texture 2) right click on large texture image 3) select "savs as" 4) select Art* or bittmap (tried both) After it downloads I try to open the image and I get the attached message. I hope you can help. The site is really terrific.

Philywebrider posted Sat, 10 August 2002 at 1:22 PM

Kelderekdo you still want me to send you the files?

Kelderek posted Sat, 10 August 2002 at 5:09 PM

Weird... However, you should not select bitmap in step 4, since it's a jpg file. What is Art*? When I do it, I select format "All files", that should not mess up the file in any way. You can send the file, it would be interesting to see if it behaves weird on my machine as well.

Philywebrider posted Sat, 10 August 2002 at 6:10 PM

Kelderek I donot know what *art format is either (shows up as a JPEG). I cannot select "all files" format, it is not an optiom offered for saving a file. "All Files" is an option for opening a file.

Are you on AOL? ART is an AOL format that I haven't been able to open in any other program... but you can change that default setting in their options.

I am on AOL, how do I chang the default setting?

hmatienzo posted Sat, 10 August 2002 at 7:54 PM

There should be an options menu somewhere, or preferences... Look for anything that will let you change file associations or internet options. It's been ages since I used AOL, sorry I don't remember where exactly it's hiding out... but it is there.

I ask because I tried settings, graphics, Dl option, and several other possiable areas, no luck. this is just not my day.

Charlie_Tuna posted Sat, 10 August 2002 at 9:08 PM

To change settings in AOL got to My AOL, preferences, web (or www) then turn off 'use compressed images'

Why shouldn't speech be free? Very little of it is worth anything.

Hi Charlie I found it and it works, many thanks, I really appreicate it' :0)

Good to hear! The only question now is why on earth AOL has an internal picture format that can't be read anywhere else... Really weird!
