I just spent "forever" going through the Poser Forum's archives and found nothing on making FIRE in Poser. Please tell me I screwed up my search. Is it possible or am I stuck in Photoshop?

Use a cone from the "Prop Types" library and add a flames texture. Use the same tex as a trans map and set both min and max transparency to 100%.

I'm working on it.

The current build (seen above) was rendered entirely in Poser 4.

I have high hopes for Poser 5. Even though it doesn't have a particle system, you'd be surprised at what you can accomplish with animated procedural textures and turbulence deformers.

That's actually not too bad, I never thought of doing it that way.

Deimos makes the best currently available fire around. i use it alot because it's light on poser and takes lighting very well

Little_Dragon posted Fri, 09 August 2002 at 7:12 PM

My main beef with Poser 4 illumination is the lack of omni lights (or point lights, or whatever you care to call them; they radiate light equally in all directions). I see that Poser 5 will add "global lights" to our current light-source toolbox (infinite and spotlight). I'm hoping that this'll be my long-missed omnis, and not just some form of ambient lighting.

For my avatar pic, I used the fire from the "Witch burning" set in freebies. I think it was here, although it might have been another site.

Wow! Great balls of fire! These fire effects are fabulous!! :-) Fire was the main reason I created my FX Paks - All my friends wanted to bring their Poser dragons to life! (And you can't have a dragon without fire!) Dave :-)

kawecki is the master of fire in Poser and is the person you need to consult.
