I'm just wondering what your thoughts are on the r'osity store. I'd like to put some work up for sale, but there are a few little things that I'm not really happy with.

whaddya mean? and what kind of work?

Well, first of all I'd love to see that higher priced work would have a lower % of sales cut for r'osity, but that's just a small thing, but at least it holds me back from putting my good work up for sale :( Most of all it's a shame that there are no other options for the art prints. Like to chance to offer framed prints, that have a passepartout between the work & the frame - so you could offer completely framed work. And most important of all, I haven't seen anything that disallowes buyers to use bought work for commercial purposes. I did notice that it says that they can't put it online for third parties to see, but I still don't feel comfortable with that to be honest. Perhaps I'm just seeing things that aren't there, but I just want to be sure, cause having to part with 55% of the retail price isn't a small thing. Oh, and it's mainly to sell stuff like posters or other 2d work. So any experience with anything is very much appreciated , thanks :)

...there are things that I have found pretty annoying with RR store. Havent bougt anything from there, but peeked there many times. Everybody is trying to sell everything. Of course, there are fantastic stuff for many different media, but there are also poses that would take 10 minutes to do, crappy recycled textures, poor models and now, prints. Seriously, 90% of images sold there are nice, but just nice, nothing special, nobody will buy those and in same time, mid class images are taking attention and space from good pics with potential. I know, its hard to say whats good and useful image and whats not, but still, there should be somekind of pruning. And why the heck I beef for you? Heh. :o) If you are worried about commericial use, write for RR stuff, I bet they will do something for it. .n

Good idea, maybe they can make us a sort of high-quality selected store for every type. They could always make those things higher priced and offer them with frames, or whatever.

hmph. I've though about putting a couple images up for sale there also, and must say the percentage cut kind of keeps me from doing so, and I don't like to sell unframed prints. but I think, seeing that it's now 55%, offering framing as well would drive the artists percentage even lower. Still, I am intrigued by the opportunity to sell there, and probably will put at least one up there in next month or so. good points raised in this post, btw.

Then maybe just post (or pay for) an ad to announce that you're selling something, so people will contact you directly? I dunno if that's allowed, so if it's not, then ignore my comment. Hehehe... (*

Well, it's no secret that they'd like some cash in return for us using their much-viewed site. Afterall, they don't charge us for using it for all other things (forum, gallery, etc). Good point, perhaps posting just one or two things first might be a good idea.

maybe a Limit on pics per user? like two or three? this could improve the overall quality.greatly...
