I'm really not that much of a 'flower shooter' nor even macro, but its that time of year. Who could not try shooting these beautiful, fragile and short lived blooms. Both were taken in the early AM--one right after a rain and the other the second day of bloom.

Whoops, too bad my black frame doesn't show up. Well, they were done for my pbase gallery and photosig, so can't be helped.

The second is the second day of bloom for the lotus (we had over a dozen huge blooms--but they don't all bloom at one time).

The first was taken with my Canon 50mm f/1.8, the second with my Canon 70-200L f/4.

I've shot a variety of butterflies--there again, not normally a butterfly shooter, but the light is the pits for architechtural, landscapes and the minutae in available light I like to shoot, so these are summer shooting in NC.

I wanted to try shooting the Swallowtails in late afternoon with a macro lens instead of my zoom--taken with a Tamron 90mm macro.

Wow, Diane! These are lovely! :-) I like the composition in both, and the backlighting in the second one. I'm not really a flower person, too, but I'm glad you took these pics. :-) (*

Ooopsie, I missed the butterfly shot. Another nice one. (I wish I could take pics like these.) (*

All 3 of these capture a delicate and beautiful simplicity. Keep this up, and you may become a flower shooter type after all!

3 Wonderful photos. But I just love the butterfly.
