Need a decent looking texture with dark hair on arms and legs, preferably chest too. Something like HMG's Falkner or SteffyZZ's Edo, but pref with more arm/leg hair. Also can't really afford a $30 texture, but might bite the bullet for really good quality.

Hair is tough to find. Distirtion and cloning for seams turns it quickly into smudged dirt. I did one at Daz that might be two high for you price-wise. The resolution is fairly standard. I really can't think of any really hairy ones. That is why I did one. There are a couple guys around here that do tons of male renders. One I can think of is. He would know if there were any around. "Eon's Male Model" by EON has some body hair. If it's for your wolf-style character previewed the other day I'm not sure if he's hairy enough for ya. Wouldn't it be kewl if someone sold morphing body hair! Good luck.

Harry by DragonLady renders very very well, and is a reasonable price. I think Anton's maps at Daz are gorgeous. Both sets have different body and face files. Between the two, you have hairy characters for days.:) Emily

Oh, let's not forget Jose Cortes and Paco by Quim. Little more pricey, very good textures. Emily

There's a pretty nice free one from Mint called Jan. I think it's in the free stuff.

Look in the freestuff under contributor's name "ffabris". He has six white-on-black "hair transparency maps" for use on Mike figures in Bryce. This approach is costly in memory terms, you need to have 2 Mike meshes, one for the regular texture and one - slightly larger - for the hair transparency. Looks VERY real when rendered, but eats RAM like crazy. I took one and inverted it so the hair would be black, then just took that part and layered it on another texture of Mike to custom make a hairier tex I needed. This is the best way to go if you want "free". If you're willing to part with some $ for higher quality, go for one/some of Quimabella's Mike character/textures in the store - definitely high quality. I recently bought his "Carlos Forte" - not particularly hairy, but a great character and damn goodlooking.
