.....a flintlock pistol and possibly a tri corner hat? Free would obviously be good, but I don't mind paying a reasonable amount. Many thanks.

If you use 3D Max and you have the free plugins for Max 3, from Reyes informatica, I guess Dirty Reyes or Meta reyes has a free flintlock pistol as part of their scene tutorials.
