No photoshop work here! I've been having some fun with QA testing on the Maya plug-in for Poser (BodyStudio). This is a Poser figure, moving in maya with Maya Particles for the flames. The Poser setup, and import took about 10 minutes, amd then I played with the particle settings, for a few hours. The Render was done in hardware and took about 15 minutes for the 150 frames.

for the full animation in .avi format (indeo4.5) follow this link!

the file's about 1.6mb so wait for the download.

enjoy!

That's pretty kewl. Do you think you might tackle a Poser to Electric Image Universe (animator) plugin? I'm kinda getting into the affordable version 2.9 from DVGarage and enjoying the heck out of it. Most of the EIU plugin stuff only works on the current version requiring the inevitable upgrade and even then, they are primarily mac based and not PC. I'd love to bring a poser animation into EIU on the PC.

While we're on the subject of flames, here's a pic of vicki with flaming hair. No Photoshop, straight EI Universe with the Konkeptoine fire plugin.

Kool Konkeptoine stuff, Tim!

Here's a shot from what I'm really waiting for. Maya 4.5 has fluid effects whcih seem to have some beautiful flames that finally have the potential to move correctly! check out this still and see the whole movie at the link

Josh,

Wow, I can see why you're anxious for Maya 4.5. Any possibility of creating a poser plugin for EI Universe for Mac?

Tim

Hi Director, where are you working? Hi Tim, I think a plugin for EI from my company would be a long time in coming. I've got the Maya plugin to develop and support, and we have other projecs mapped out after that. The next phase for me is to create a Mac version of BodyStudio! cheers, -Josh

Sorry Josh, Freudian slip called you by the name of the head of production. Im working out of Maryland on a pilot for RJS Productions. We met at the Curious Labs booth at Siggraph. (We've already touched base via email) The flame effects should be more than enough to convince the team to stick with Win2k Maya rather than Mac OS. Thanks ;)
