Hi,

This is a Michael head texture WIP. Still needs some touchup, but would like opinions so far.

Thanks,
Spectre

Since I finally got the Daz beard working, here's one with a beard :)

Finally, a side shot with beard.....

OK, it's got potential to be a real nice texture. :) 1) Get rid of the highlight in the pupil. That makes it obvious the irises are flipped, and makes it impossible to light them according to the scene's light source. 2) Upper lashes have almost twice as many hairs as do lower ones, and they are longer. 3) Eyebrow texture is quite nice, but they are too obviously flipped. Change the base of one brow or the other at the inner corner. Outer corners should be extended IMHO. 4) Is it possible to put some sort of texture or noise on those ears? 5) The bottom of the philtrum seems dark to me. I like your choice of colors and tones, and think that this can be a really flexible skin map, but people pay do attention to nuances in the face, so you should massage this a bit more before release. love the mottled texture in the skin but yeah the highlights in the eyes make him look crosseyed and perhaps just a little color in the lips and yes the ears need some color.

All very good points.... Those dang ears are always lighter than the rest of the head for some reason. Even if you use the same color. I'll work on the pupils, lips, and brows. I think some upper lip work will clear up the dark philtrum. I'll add a little pink to the lips and see what that does. How about the eylids and eye whites? Thanks for the comments :) Spectre

i agree with carolly, but there's also another thing: the face skin looks different. that texture looks as if it's been scanned from tights or similar, if you know what i mean. also, it needs some wrinkles.

The eyebrows and skin around the corners of the eyes, have a green tinge to them. Is that intentional?

spectre3 posted Sun, 18 August 2002 at 9:06 AM

Thanks everyone... Hmmmmm not sure what scanned from tights means, but the face skin is an actual digital photo I took. Three actually, one from the front, and two for each profile. I think the green may be lighting, but you're right they do look sorta green here. I'll keep working on it :) Very nice pic echo871 ! Just bought that hair myself :) Isn't it great? Spectre

is there anyway to make the brows straighter at the ends instead of arching to fit the eye? The only other thing I'd suggest from this is a bit of pink to lips.

I'd bump up the lips just a tad-- right now many lights would wash out that bump and men's lips always seem a bit rougher than womens. I like the detail around the eyes and, for some reason I blot out Poser ears anyway, the mesh is too ugly for words. Hey, that Daz beard looks good! What was everyone complaining about the texture for? As for the eyes, I usually end up using Real Eyes anyway. In fact, I wish texs for RE's were offered more. And the philtrum didn't look dark to me. What often kills a male texture is too heavy or too lame a eyelash trans. This looks good, in fact I like the heavy lower lashes, but I'm a perv so don't go by me.:) Emily Emily

. This looks good, in fact I like the heavy lower lashes, but I'm a perv so don't go by me lol I am a big fan of gentleman with long lashes, and as mentioned it is hard to come across a well done lash trans for Michael. But this lash trans is very appealing. :) Jess
