I figured less was more. I remember being near a drop-off at Virginia Beach. Something black the size of a truck went by about as fast. It scared hell out of me because I couldn't make it out. This is the effect I was trying for. Bright up top but darker below and not quite enough detali to make things out.

Love those fish. Don't know about the darkness, though. Reminds me of a few months ago when I was hanging out and something the size of a truck whizzed by me, too. Turned out it WAS a truck and I ended up across its bonnet. I didn't care, though, 'cos I'd had 12 pints at the time, and there was another one waiting for me in the pub when I got there.

After six pints I would be seeing just like in the picture. After twelve I'd see the fish too! Or maybe that's just my mother in law.

Thanks! I checked everyone who replied's galleries. I'm still trying to figure out who's who. That people as good as you are like it makes the complements even better!

Great Color and Depth? Hmmm. Too me, the fish look like they're going to eat the little guy. Did the ship miss the abyss? Put a light beam on the guy and introduce some grit to the water to give it depth. Infinite focus doesn't work well underwater. Just my opinion. SHONNER http://www.shonner.com
