Just a weekly update of the DB5's progress. The body is basically complete. Just the chassis, engine and interior to go. I preordered Poser5 yesterday so it most certainly will come out with whatever enhancements I can squeeze out of Poser5. Should a Poser4 version go along with the release or is everyone going to be using Poser5 by November? These shots are in Poser4.

No, Modeled in Maya 4, rendered in Poser4. I have been modeling all of my cars in Maya and then bringing them into Poser4.

Since no release date for Mac Poser 5 has been announced nor have many Euro and Japanese buyers been given a date, I'd recommend a P4 version.

If it turns into an airplane and mini-sub I'll take two! is that minime in the glovebox??

There are a whole LOT of people who will be using Poser 4 for the foreseeable future. Like many others, I'll have to upgrade to a better computer before I can get Poser 5, so for me it MAY be sometime late next year, before I can make that change, and there are many others in similar circumstances. No matter how good P5 is, P4 is going to be around for some time yet. Please, make it for P4. P5 will still be able to use it.

No machine guns yet, But you can be sure there will be at least an addon for all of the Spy gadgets. Would have to make a Lotus to make the MiniSub though. ;) I am a major James Bond fan myself. I will make it available with both versions.

Q would be proud of you, Duddly...just so you don't wear out your copy of 'Goldfinger' or 'Thunderball' looking for all the gadgets, here's the list: For those who don't remember, the 'Bond Model' DB5 was equipped with the following options: 1. Rotating number plates: BMT 216A, LU 6789 and 4711-EA-62 (British, French or Swiss). 2. 2 shortbarrelled ,303 Browning machine guns behind front parking lights. 3. Smoke-screen unit. 4. Oil ejecting device behind near side tail-light. 5. Pointed 'Commando Spikes' behind offside tail-light. 6. Hydraulic bullet-proof steel plate covering rear window. 7. Bullet-proof windows. 8. Radar. 9. Extendable front and rear overriders for close combat. 10. Tire cutters in the wheels. 11. Passenger ejector seat. 12. Radio telephone housed in driver's door panel. Most of the gadgets were controlled from a panel in the gearbox housing. Bonus Trivia: The DB5 used in Goldfinger in 1964 was in fact the first production model of the Aston Martin DB5. Two custom DB5s were built by Aston Martin for promotional purposes. After completion of the movie 'Thunderball', one was 'un-converted' and sold as a used car. (GASP!) The remaining custom was sold to a private collector at a Sotheby's auction for $275,000, with ALL GADGETS INTACT. The only thing missing were the firing pins for the twin Brownings. Sadly, what has been hailed as 'The World's Most Famous Car' was stolen in 1997 from an aircraft hanger in Florida where is was being stored. It has never been recovered. When the DB5 reappeared in 'Goldeneye', the British plate was BMT 214A, and it appeared to have all its old gadgets removed. The gearbox now served as a champagne bucket (naughty, naughty Bond! never drink and drive!) Anyway, excellent work, Duddly...I look forward to creating some 'new' Bond adventures with this beauty! I do? actually except for the intro I don't watch SNL much. As a teenager I read most of the Ian Flemming books except for "The Man With The Golden Gun" and you're right nu-be - the 'Bonds' don't seem to stay with you for some reason. Well, one has to admit Diana Rigg has aged gracefully, and although I doubt that she is any longeer the object of fantasy, is still very graceful and a handsome woman for her age and apparently extremely intelligent.
