if you havent seen this artist, check this out. he claims that these are in poser renders without post. any idea on how its done? It doesnt looke like a sketch, maybe its cartoon w/ line document style?Little_Dragon posted Thu, 22 August 2002 at 7:39 PM
Given the absence of textures, bumps, etc., it is almost certainly Cartoon w/Line mode. Although I have to wonder about the eyelashes. Cartoon w/Line doesn't do transparency. Unless those are eyelash props with individually modeled lashes, some postwork would be involved.

I've been reading up on this and you're definitely on the right track. it's sort of an improvised cell shading, it seems to be lit very well. p.s.- the artist is a bit enigmatic, he has yet to give away any secrets! :)

Just one suggestion .... Render menu --> Antialias Document (ALT-CTRL-R) :)

I finished my first read-through of the P5 manual, and discovered that we're getting toon shader materials, in addition to P4's old Cartoon w/Lines display mode. Should be interesting.

I remember seeing a false eyelash prop with fully modelled eyelashes in the free stuff a while back. I'll bet he's using that for the eyelashes (Not like you to forget about a past freebie, LD. Been getting enough brimstone lately?)

Brimstone? Feh!
I didn't forget, Ajax. That's why I mentioned them as a possibility.
If you want a link, here it is. They were posted by FishNose, and conform to Victoria and Stephanie.
Of course, with Vic and Steph, you have to worry about the transparent eyeball layer, which won't be transparent in Cartoon w/Line mode. But you can morph that out of the way, thanks to Mazak.
