You don't need it for Poser, but I think you do need it for Bryce. I always just delete them. :-)
My idea of rebooting is kicking somebody in the butt twice!

MTL file is a MaTeriaLs pointer file for an OBJ. It carries material color and mapping information. You can open and edit it with a text editor. Most programs make them when an OBJ is saved or exported. The only time you would need it in Poser is if you were importing the OBJ. If the MTL is in the Poser Geometries, as rockets said, you don't need it, and it can be deleted.

You can also keep it so you have an easier time to transport your objects material libray for your textures to another application such as Vue and Bryce. Sharen
