Subject: Creating conforming clothes...

Okay, so I've made and object in Lightwave, imported it to Poser Pro, taken it into the setup room, loaded a figure's bone structure, grouped polys to bones (making sure they were in the right spots) and moved back to the pose screen...... First, it doesn't stay in it's original position, and using the conform tool doesn't fix this. Second the object is broken at the group joints...Did I forget to do something here? Second the object is broken at the group joints...Did I forget to do something here? for this, you probably ommitted the parent/child/weld statements at the end of your cr2 First, it doesn't stay in it's original position, and using the conform tool doesn't fix this. check the centers of some of your existing poser figures...similar to what you made. try setting your figure with the same parameters.

Discard all the ProPack stuff and do it much quicker and easier, the hard way -- That isn't very hard. Find a figure that has about the same body setup as what you're working on. Open the CR2 in a text editor. (Not a word processor like Word) Use Notepad or Textpad. Edit the geometry refrences in the CR2 to point to your new OBJ. Look for something like this... figureResFile Runtime:Geometries:NerdStuff:VicChain:CorsetB.obj The line will occur twice in the CR2 be sure to change both of them. Save the file with a new name. When you open the clothing in Poser Be sure to zero ALL the channels before trying to conform it. (Check the Body too) Memorize the figure and save it back to the library. Now it's ready to be a conformer. If the figure still doesn't line up properly it's because the OBJ is in the wrong place in Poser space. You will need to re-edit the clothing in your modeler and line it up with the OBJ for the target figure. If you load the figure OBJ and the clothing OBJ they should line up perfectly in the modeling program. IF they don't you will never get it to fit right. ngsmall02.gif

Thanx... I modeled the item to the figure (in this case V2). After several attempts, I finally got it to work, though it seems to bend some of the parts for a strange reason, though it is fixable by changing the bend and such in poser. I did get the object to not be broken in poser..I had to use the weld command a few times before it took...I also deleted the unused bones in the imported bone setup. I am now satisfied with my first poser item :) Now, I need to remove the shins and feet and replace them with boots...which I have tried with a limited success.
