No, it's not senility but an annoying intermitent error message 'you have run out of memory, save now and exit etc...' It happened when I tried to open a bat lab freebie which I'd used before, also happened with Panzergen clothing and some Iso clothing. I've got 320mb ram...Help and suggestions please Thanks for your time Mon

mon1alpha a majority of the time that error message is for one of two reasons... 1) a corrupted geometry RSR (solution: delete the corresponding geometry rsr & poser will automatically build a new one) or 2) a misplaced geometry file (solution: open the cr2 in a text editor & move the corresponding file to the proper location or edit the cr2 to point to the geometry file in the new location.

rsr file corruption is the probable cause of this, do a search for rsr files in geometries & delete them. Rob

Thank you both for the advice. I had a feeling that something was corrupted but for the life of me I couldn't think what! I'll put my brain in gear and try that when I get home tonight Once again thanks for the help Mon

IMO deleting rsr files should be done one at a time, as problems occur. A well-intentioned DAZ tech once recommended that you delete ALL of them from Geometries, claiming "you don't need them." I did that...disasterous results, and I had to reinstall the app. I'm not as technically astute on this issue as others, but from experience, think you should only do it with specific rsr files that cause this error. 320MB RAM is not insufficient memory. :-)

I used to have just 64Mb of Ram & the only time I got that message was a corrupt rsr file in geometries, so 320MB is fine :) Rob

DON'T delete all rsr files!!! Look for the new one(s) used for the recently installed clothing/whatever, delete that ONLY! A single rsr file. :] FishNose

Thanks for all the concern and help but too late. I have deleted a lot of rsr files and apart from the default dork having a variety of hair colours each time I use the big P there's no apparent problems. I deleted pretty well all rsrs from geometries folder. If the program goes belly up I'll re-install but as yet it's ok.........(ominous music plays in the background) Mon the eternal optimist
