I figured I would kill 2 birds with one stone. This is the portait I was working on. She was created in Poser (with morphs from a Michal figure, hence the 2 birds) and transferred and rendered in Carrara. I used Grouper for this, and I am very happy with the results. Poser+Carrara=very nice combo. JDextermateo_sancarlos posted Tue, 27 August 2002 at 8:14 PM
I agree, she looks very good. One thing you might also try is softer lighting. I guess you can't use GI on it until they fix the transparency bug, but you might soften the shadows a little, or even add a few more dim lights. What I noticed was the nose shadows looking too distinct, a little Poser-like.

See it works so good it looks like it's right out of Poser, hehe! Actually I was working on this model to help me understand lighting better and I am starting to get the hang of it. I would like to have used GI, but as you said, it's a little broken at the moment. I turned the shadows down to about 25% on the 2 lights I did use. She was a test for me of a few things, lighting, a closeup with Grouper (which really did a great job in helping me with the shaders) and also on the Poser side, seeing how well Michaels morphs take on Stephanie. All in all I am very pleased by this lesson work I went through. JDexter Oh, I also used this same picture to see how to print to my new ink printer and how to calibrate it for the best color matching. Wow! I guess I did get a lot out of this little lady.
