There are many Universes, and in those that magic is superior to science, space travel is also known. Ion engines have their counterparts in Spelljamming helms. With space travel comes exploration, commerce, and war.... The Mindflayers are amongst the most feared race in the Universe, eaters of living brains, psionic enslavers of worlds. here, one of their ships, a nautiloid, sails for the barren moon of a rich, aquatic world, from here they plan to embark on a new campign of enslavement. On the deck, a crewman forlornly stares out in the hope for release from his pain and mental control. Anyone here ever played AD&D? Remember Spelljammer and the wonderful ships... Model made in Rhino3D, Scene made in Bryce 5, textures for planets made in Paint Shop Pro with Lunar Cell plugin from Flaming pear. ![nautilioid_final.jpg](http://www.silverblades-suitcase.com/artofadreamer/3d/nautilioid_final.jpg)"I'd rather be a

Yes I played AD&D 2nd Ed. and purchased the Spelljammer boxed sets and a few expansion books. It was a great extension and I am sad it wasn't explored more by TSR. I'd pour over the deck plans and the Nautiloid is one of my favorite ships. Mmm, I never thought of making 3D models from the deckplans. Maybe I'll do the hammerhead or that wonderful squidship, or the dragonfly. Your ship looks very accurate, though the oars are on two rows on the ship's card in the Spelljammer box set. The window is beautiful.

Alduin, Glad you liked it! :) Not exactly the same , artistic license and the fact that the exact deckplans are not entirely sensible when you figure them out, in regard to size, crew and so on. Plus there would be many variations not everyone would be the same ;) Spelljammer was one of my fave settings, so utterly wild and vast sigh hope it ocmes back with 3rd Ed :/ Damn, fleets of beholders, illithids and two of the best NPCs races: neoghi and giff...what more could you ask for, hehe! More Spelljammer work, and downloadable .obj models on my site: http://www.silverblades-suitcase.com/artofadreamer/3d/manowar.jpg http://www.silverblades-suitcase.com/artofadreamer/3d/hammer3.jpg http://www.silverblades-suitcase.com/artofadreamer/3dmodels.htm
