(1) I'm a nobody (just so you know where I'm coming from). (2) Re: The incredible "anti-piracy" debate/thread... people have feelings and thoughts (duh!). I think a lot of them spoke with darn good thoughts. Seems like a lot of them have good insight. But what do I know? Still... (3) I've not "met" ANYONE from CL that has given me "a bad feeling". Like DAZ, I think you guys are still pretty darn well in touch with your customer base. Unlike Micro$oft. That's a "plus"...but I don't need to explain that to you, Steve. You seem to do a damn good job of balancing the orchestration of a company and staying in touch with the "consumer world". By that, I mean you haven't morphed into B. Gates. I bet you sleep well at night (assiming you get enough time). (4) I just saw P5 for the first time today. I had seen bits and blurbs here and there, but there's nothing like seeing it "in person". To anyone who has read this far, I ask this: "What differences did you notice in the upgrade from Word 97 to Word 2000?" As an IT person, I advised my management to dispense with additional training for our employees because the difference wasn't worth it. To me, Word 2000 was a moneymaker. On the other hand, P5 is, well, like double what was available in P4. Even this remark may fall short of it because, in an hour's time today, the instructor, who "touched" as briefly as he could on the new features, couldn't "touch" on all of them in over an hour's time! Your product is THAT new! THAT different! As an owner of Photoshop for many many upgrades, I still tap less than half of its ability (of course, I'm just an average guy...not really gifted). When I saw P5 today, I thought to myself, "I'll NEVER understand and be able to use all the incredible things it has." It's that deep! And as Pokeydots said (paraphrasing), "for THAT cheap upgrade price???" All I can say is thanks for the price break. I'm just a hobbyist. For people who use it to make money, it should be a drop in the bucket...anti-piracy scheme or not. (5) Of all the things said, I DO believe there needs to be some sort of easy way to deal with the foreign buyers. Heck, from what I've read, they have to pay really inflated prices as it is without worrying about long-distance phonecalls or snailmail to repair or fix install problems. I don't know what your foreign customer base is, but from what I've seen here, it's all over the world (something you MUST be proud of). (6) Your prison thingy (Legume). I respect you for that. Your appearance from time-to-time in this forum. I respect you for that. That you run around barefooted...I even respect that. Kewl. Your staff? I can identify with this because I am currently worried about my job and therefore take work home with me to do at night. So I can really appreciate it when your staff is urged to spend a holiday weekend with family and, well, just to take some damn time off! (7) To finish on a note of levity...hehe...the grand prize at DragonCon is to be served up on Monday...and what else but a copy of P5. Figured you could at least have kept up with DAZ who gave away thousands each day. (grin) I guess I'll just have to pray my red tickets pay off...hehe. But even then, the upgrade price is certainly within reach of a hobbyist such as me. (8) Anthony's recipe is TOO tiresome. I'd rather follow the other suggestion...slap them on the grill and season with salt...grin. (oops, slipped in one last "fun" comment) (9) (my lucky number) No need to answer this post. But if you read it...that's kewl. I know you have much more to do and many other posts to think about. This one was just a compliment of sorts.
