It reminds me of Keanu Reeves As far as the textures, the cheeks look a little too light...like he is wearing some kind of makeup..
Dave posted Fri, 06 September 2002 at 1:00 PM
It isnt Keanu. The cheek thing might be because of the lighting. Thanks, Dave

his cheeks or rather where his cheek bones are the texture looks empty compared to the rest, there's loads of detail everywhere else but in those 2 spots, they sort of stand out from the rest of his face. Rob

The cheeks were treated the same as the forehead. Like I said it might be a result of the lighting since they're a little more prominent than the forehead. I might try another render with a different light setup and see if we still have that problem. Any guesses Rob as to who it might be? Dave

rupert everett?

If that is supposed to be Mulder, i would work less on the texture and more on the morphs

Well, a couple of things: The eyebrows look painted, as opposed to the rest of it. I'd rethink them. Eyeballs aren't gleaming white; they always have a little base colour of some kind. But overall I'd say it was pretty spectacular.

Gee I thought I did a better job of getting this guy's likeness than this. This is not very encouraging. If it helps disregard the hair because there really isnt a Poser hairstyle that matches his (not without a lot of tweaking). I dont want to give any hints because that will spoil all the fun. Thanks, Dave

Well Kevschmev you hit the nail on the head. Which morph in particular. I've pulled out the stops on the morphs and this is as close as I could get. Point me in the right direction to the problem area and I might be able to tweak it some more. Eyeballs arent gleaming white in the texture map. The lighting is over-emphasizing it. I was trying to copy the lighting setup from the photo and evidently I have the lights too bright. Sorry.

Well, I could tell that it was suppoed to be David Duchovony. Mostly from the lips. I think the real david's head is a bit less narrow... I'd reduce the y-scale, OR widen the head/face, or turn "facelong" down, or maybe make the jaw more full. It's hard to say without actually seeing the effect of the dials. Good Luck! -MagnetMage

I'd desaturate the lips a tad, and perhaps a dab on the eyebrows. They've shifted to a reddish brown which may or may not be what you had in mind. Aside from that it's a very good texture, love the stubble :) Who is this Duchovony guy anyway? :) Lyrra

I think it's David D too, but I think his face is a little more square now, too. Could you give us a 3/4 view?

Yeah, I see the resemblance now... Now looking at the pic, the face and nose are too long and his eyes need to be bigger and a little closer. Nose hump is too prominent. Lips look about right. It will take alot of time to get the proper look. My Niki character I did took me over 30 hrs of playing with morph dials to get just right and the other characters I am working on are taking alot of time as well. I need to get back to work on them. =P

Do you have Poser 5? This is a prime candidate, and would be a great test, of the Face Room. I think you would get much better results a LOT faster.
I'd be the first one to tell you the Face Room is far from perfect, but it would make quick work of the basics for his face (general shape ... and texture map especially) and you could spend the saved time tweaking the morphs to death.
You'd need a profile shot of him as well at a decent res, but that would be far from impossible given his major Star Factor.

Nope dont have Poser 5. Still mucking around with PP4. Dave P.S. I posted a later message on this subject and I think I've gotten a lot closer.
