I was just wondering what genre of images eveyone likes and maybe even why they like them. I personally like realistic landscape scenes. I live in the northwest and have always loved nature. It just always seems to amaze me how beautiful the world around me is. I have also done some photography so when I do bryce work I try to recreate what I have seen and what I want to see.

So what types of images are your favorite and why do you like them...

Anything goes, but the tops are the DAZ gorillas with swords in a temple. no particular genre. Be creative, come up with something new and inspire us. or let us inspire you. Just post and enjoy.

I like anything that has "atmosphere" - that invokes emotion. An image can be technically poor but if it provokes feeling then it is good art. I suppose I'm biased towards sci-fi and if I had to choose a genre then this is what I'd choose, though I do like landscapes also. In fact, I'm considering concentrating solely on sci-fi from now on, because although variety is a good thing generally, it doesn't help at all if you're wanting to get work. Then, it's specialisation that counts.

I have always enjoyed images which include vast otherworld terrains with deep colorful nebular skies. I quess that the final frontier for exploration in this world is the imagination of the human mind and it's creative results as seen in forums like this one.

I like scenes with nice detail, both on textures and models. If the artist has really thought about how he/she can make the image look very good it always shows. Any image with good lighting, composition and atmosphere is worth looking at. My most popular genres are Sci-fi and (romantic or realistic)Landscapes. I also like it when images are original. I like it when images have new effects, visual styles etc. I usually don't like tasteless images, like 'nudity for the sake of nudity' and stuff like that.

Subject matter doesn't matter much to me (though Sci-Fi is at the top along with landscapes) as long as it looks realistic or like it could be an oil painting I like it.

I am a still life junkie, but I don't know why.

I like still lifes, landscapes and sci fi/fantasy stuff as well. For me what it boils down to is whether I like something no matter what mood I'm in.

For example, I can appreciate nudity or near-nudity much better later in the day, but can't stand it during breakfast (not even the classics). Any thing with personal violence and/or gore is usually right out, although spaceships shooting at each other or distant explosions don't bother me quite so much. I probably would never have them in the living room, though.

Curiously, I have put three of my own pictures on the wall behind my computer monitor. On the other walls are a mola (Central American fabric art, origally used on clothing) and a copy of a still life by a not-very well known artist.
