I'm usually lean towards science fiction as opposed to fantasy, but I must admit the Mil' Dragon sale was too good a deal to ignore. When I saw the listed phoneme morphs, I gave into temptation. I thought I'd run 'im through Mimic to see how well he'd perform. Click on the link and judge for yourself. You'll need the DivX 5 codec to run the clip. No, that's not Sean Connery. That's voice actor "Weird" Wally Fields doing his Picard impression for my site (those two sound remarkably similar). If you want a monologue of 25 words or less performed as a specific character, Fields can most likely do it, for free! Check out his site at: http://www.wallys.com

I just got mine a few hours ago. I really do not do much with dragons in my art, but I figured it would be a good time to get it while it is only 20$ in case I ever needed it. I was very impressed with the morphs and all. Very excellent character esp for the price. The video was cool. He just needs more body movement.

Millennium Dragon (MPG format, 579KB) : Patrick Troughton, the second Doctor Who

Valandar's Land Dragon (MPG format, 493KB) : yes, that is Sean Connery

True, to make him more life-like I do need to add body movements. I'm still learning those elements. I saved that scene as a PZ3 file, so I can recall it, advance to a specific frame, change the position of certain body parts and click the add key-frame button. Add several of these throughout the length of the 188 frame monologue and he should appear somewhat more believable. I wish I could take an extended leave from work so I could seriously study and practice these techniques.

Hmm, Troughton as a dragon, it works, especially the irony of his comment! Weird that he passed away while attending a convention right here in my home state of Georgia. With all the various wyrms being dusted off due to the success of DAZ's newest creation, I kinda' surprised you haven't modified any of these to serve as your online avatar. An encounter between you and florence Ambrose or White Pony would be a hoot! For those of you who are clueless as to what I am referencing, check out Mark Stanley's witty strip, FreeFall at: http://www.purrsia.com/freefall/ ...and read its related forum at: http://nice.purrsia.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=21 Little Dragon has built quite the popular reputation with his portraits and animations!

Those were good Little Dragon. All dragons need a British accent... =) Next time he needs to say something from Monty Python though. =D

John Cleese, perhaps? I'll keep it in mind. The Mimic-ready version of Valandar's Land Dragon has been posted in Free Stuff, if anyone wants it. Now you can put both the Millennium Dragon and Land Dragon in the same animation and have them reinact the Lincoln-Douglas debates!
